A reading of a 15-minute excerpt from the full-length play, THE BEST PLACE WE'VE EVER LIVED was presented by the Milk Can Theatre Company as part of their Fall 2012 COW Reading Series on December 10, 2012 at Blackbird Bar in Manhattan.

TABLE MANNERS IN SANTA MONICA earned an Honorable Mention from the judges for the Magnolia Arts Center's Seventh Annual Ten Minute Play Competition in Greenville, SC, October 2012. 

SYNOPSIS: 

A man and a woman who meet through a dating website struggle through their first date.

THE NEXT MOVE Presented in Maryland.

 

A production of THE NEXT MOVE was presented at Frostburg State University's One-Act Play Festival at the Palace Theater in Frostburg, MD, September 28-29.

SYNOPSIS:

An elderly couple bicker their way through a Sunday afternoon while preparing for company to arrive. In the process, they uncover some disturbing things.

NOT HERE YET Presented in New York

 

NOT HERE YET, a one-act play, was presented in a festival of one acts (The Changing of the Season: Autumn One-Acts) by Brief Acts Company (A Division of Love Creek Productions Network) 

September 24-26 at the Producer's Club in New York City.  

SYNOPSIS: 

A woman trying to find her place in the world stations herself outside the entrance to a subway station in midtown Manhattan and comes up with a way to reach out and help other people from all walks of life. When another woman shows up and threatens her position, they make a surprising connection.

THE NEXT MOVE Wins Award and gets Production

 

THE NEXT MOVE, a play in One Act by William Fowkes, won THIRD PRIZE in the Frostburg State University Center for Creative Writing's third annual One-Act Playwriting Competition. In addition, a staged production was presented September 28 and 29 at the One-Act Play Festival at the Palace Theater in Frostburg, MD.

PRIVATE PROPERTY Goes to Maine

 

PRIVATE PROPERTY, a Play in Two Acts by William Fowkes, was work shopped in a series of three readings at the Penobscot Theatre Company’s 6th Annual New Work Festival: Northern Writes in Bangor, Bangor, ME June 20-23.

SYNOPSIS: Gregory, a retired interior decorator; his wealthy partner, Samuel; and Birdy, their long-suffering housekeeper, have lived together in the woods of northeastern Pennsylvania for decades and have a unique way of avoiding boredom—amassing a curious collection of houses, each decorated in a different style. But when an inquisitive reporter comes snooping around, more than just their privacy is threatened.

TABLE MANNERS IN CHICAGOLAND won THIRD PRIZE and AUDIENCE FAVORITE awards at the National One Act Play Festival June 2012 at Catch a Star Theatrical (CAST) Players in Beaumont, CA. This play consists of three scenes from the full-length play, A FIELD GUIDE TO TABLE MANNERS: Table Manners in Chicago + Table Manners in Lake Forest + Table Manners in Evanston

SYNOPSIS: A tale about desire and responsibility—involving a man, a disabled wife, a mistress, and miscellaneous offspring—weaves its way through three settings in the greater Chicago area.

TABLE MANNERS IN CHICAGOLAND, a one-act play consisting of 3 excerpts from the full-length play, A FIELD GUIDE TO TABLE MANNERS (CHICAGO, LAKE FOREST, and EVANSTON) was presented along with five other finalists at the Catch a Star Theatrical (CAST) Players One-Act Playwriting Competition in Beaumont, CA, June 22-24.

SYNOPSIS: A tale about desire and responsibility—involving a man, a disabled wife, a mistress, and miscellaneous offspring—weaves its way through three settings in the greater Chicago area.

TABLE MANNERS IN BUENOS AIRES, a 10-minute play (and an excerpt from the full-length play, A FIELD GUIDE TO TABLE MANNERS), was presented June 14-15 at Salve Regina Theatre Arts Program’s New Play Festival in Newport, RI.

SYNOPSIS: A woman and her daughter sit out a rainstorm in a restaurant making awkward conversation while awaiting a call from the hospital about the fate of the man in their lives.

MUSEUM PIECE #2 was presented May 8 in a staged reading along with 4 other finalists at Theatre Oxford’s 2012 National 10 Minute Play Contest in Oxford, Mississippi.

SYNOPSIS: Four tourists visiting the Prado Museum in Madrid confront Velazquez’s masterpiece, Las Meninas.

TABLE MANNERS IN MEXICO CITY Presented in New York

 

TABLE MANNERS IN MEXICO CITY, a short play (and an excerpt from the full-length play, A FIELD GUIDE TO TABLE MANNERS), was presented April 23 at the American Globe Theatre’s 18th Annual 15-Minute Play Festival in New York City. It starred Roxann Kraemer (Cissy), Tony Neil (Phil), Jessica Vera (Marcia), and Elly Berke (Waiter), and was directed by William Fowkes.

SYNOPSIS: Tourist Phil Sampson is annoyed that his wife has invited a third person to join them at dinner until the attractive young woman shows up.
